Christian Worldview

A Biblical worldview sees current events as possible answers to prophecy and puts everything in perspective according to the Word of God. Every person's perspective is a sum total of her experiences, culture, upbringing, learning, and experiences. A Christian worldview recognizes that God is the creator of everything and that Jesus His Son came to the earth 2000 years ago and died for sins. "As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all that trust in Him" (2 Samuel 22:31). Everything in this life should be measured against the word of the Lord. Every problem and every circumstance should be viewed as temporary because the answer is written in God's word. Every Christian should place hope and trust in Christ who is the author and finisher of a Believer's faith.

Trusting in God is a view that all Christians should take over trusting in other things or in people. A Christian worldview should include trusting God as the ultimate finisher of faith. Some people trust in their riches while others trust in government or in leaders. People and world leaders may let a person down because humans are not perfect. However, when a person trusts in God she can depend upon the word that it is true and it never changes. "The God of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou saves me from violence" (2 Samuel 22:3).

God never changes and His word never changes. Not only should Christians trust God and the scriptures they should place all their hope and dreams in Him. "Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD" (Psalm 31:24). A Biblical worldview gives hope as a person learns to put the view from the world in perspective according to God's word. A Christian is never without hope no matter what is going on in the world because she will recognize that God is in control and being a child of God means not having to worry because the Lord will take care of all Believers. The Bible tells us that God never sleeps and is always watching over Believers.

The Golden Rule still rules as Christians treat others as they would like to be treated. A Christian worldview should view others as individuals without passing judgment or being prejudiced. God is the only one who is perfect and can rightly judge others. The Bible says that judging others brings judgment on self. Not only should God's children remain judgment free but they should make God's kingdom their priority. Every decision, every concern should be taken to Him recognizing His Lordship over life. He tells us in the scriptures to seek Him first and everything else will take care of itself. If Believers place their faith and focus on Jesus they will never have to worry because no matter what happens God is always in control.

The Bible is the infallible and irrefutable word of God. Any Christian who does not believe this should ask self if she is really a believer. A Biblical worldview recognizes that God's word is the final authority. God's word was given to a believer for the spiritual food needed to come to the knowledge of the truth that every person born is born a sinner and needs a Savior. Accepting Jesus as that Savior provides salvation to the one who believes it and confesses it. The Bible should be read and meditated on daily for daily food just as a person eats everyday for physical stamina.

A person does not have to look very far to feel fear and uncertainty. The media brings us many disturbing current events. However, Christians do not have to fear because God watches over them and keeps them safe. A Christian worldview understands that even when things look grim and hopeless God's people do not need to feel that life is out of control because He is still in control. Even when life's circumstances seem to be hopeless Jesus can calm any storm and give peace in the midst of any situation.

God's children should look for the answers to all of life's problems in His infallible word. The best way to be prepared for anything in this life is to study God's word every single day. Just a few minutes everyday will increase faith so that when trying times arise the Believer will have the faith to stand firm in the Lord. A Biblical worldview involves faith in God and in the Bible as a final authority above every other authority whether they are world leaders or other Christians. Other Believers can be wrong if not grounded in God's word.

Whatever a person feeds her mind will be largely what dictates beliefs. A person may watch a great deal of television or read fictional novels. Even a person who is studying textbooks may have difficulty with faith when subjects being studied are contrary to God's word. Even King Solomon who was faithful to God erred by allowing his wives to turn his heart to idols. In order to be true to the Lord a Believer needs to understand the importance of feeding the soul with the word of the Lord and that everything learned should be measured by the scriptures.
