Christian Purity

A Christian purity quiz can lead an individual to discover the truths about purity of the mind, heart, and deed. The Word of God calls the people of God to live a pure life, and this type of life goes far beyond Christian sexual abstinence. Christians must strive for purity of spirit, mind, heart, and body. A purity quiz will help guide the individual in understanding why God calls people to live a life of that reflects His pure and gracious heart. Understanding the will of God and applying that to daily life may be difficult for Christians, but it is what God wants all followers to do.

The word "purity" can evoke several thoughts or ideas, but most likely, the immediate association is with Christian sexual abstinence. Taking a Christian purity quiz may include questions concerning sexual behaviors. According to the Bible, Christians are to keep their sexuality confined to the boundaries of one man and one woman, in marriage, representing a pure relationship. The purpose of sexual abstinence is to demonstrate God's pure love for people. Many times in the Old Testament (see Ezekiel and Hosea) God refers to the wanderings of Israel as adultery. It seems that when the people of Israel turned their hearts and eyes from the Lord, He considered it devastating, as devastating as catching a husband or wife in an adulterous relationship. And, the Lord often called Himself a husband to the people, using the "covenant" of marriage as a word picture for the covenant to these people. "For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name..." (Isaiah 54:5) Marriage unions are living examples of God's love for people and the eternal covenant that cost the Son's life. Taking a purity quiz will teach more about marital purity and God's covenant to the people of the church.

But God wants more than the act of wholesomeness from us. Although living a sexually pure lifestyle is pleasing to God, God wants people to reflect this character in every way. Taking the Christian purity quiz below will guide anyone through all of the areas of life that God wants to bring into submission, to present pure to Him and the world. James teaches to stay pure by "... keeping himself unspotted from the world." (James 1:17) and in his letter to the Corinthians, Paul explained, "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin in Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:2-3) Here, Paul is explaining that when people look to and listen to what the World has to offer, they risk a corruption of their minds.

Paul also wrote to the Philippians that they were to keep their minds full of the good things of Christ. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8) And, to the church in Rome, Paul wrote, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2) Christians see from these passages that when they work at keeping their minds pure, they are open to God's will and teachings in life. God's thoughts do not dwell in the minds of men and women corrupted by the world. These ideas and many other similar teachings can be found by seeking a purity quiz or another topical Bible Quiz.

There is a purity of heart that God wants from His people as well. "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God will all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matthew 22:37) A Christian purity quiz will reveal that the heart can be pure. Jesus made everyone's heart, he paid for all hearts, and He will heal Christians hearts, even though it seems that these hearts are often damaged far beyond repair. It is the job of a Christian to keep the heart devoted to Him, and not be tempted to love the things of the world, other people, or even the gifts and talents He gives people much more than the love and devotion they give to Him. To continue to discover what purity means according to the Word of God, is to continue a journey of discovery - a discovery of God, who is defined as pure. After taking the purity quiz, further search the scriptures, finding more about the pure and ever-refreshing love of Christ.
