Christian Charity

Christian charity is a way that Christians can give back to their community by donating time and support to those in need. Getting involved with Christian charities is one way to show community support, but monetary donation also fulfills that purpose. It is important to give to these organizations for many reasons, but the important thing is to put heart and soul into it. A person who gives a little cheerfully is much better than a person that gives much out of obligation.

When deciding what organization to participate in, the individual should make sure they know how much to spend or how much time they can afford. Tithing leads people to give 10% of their gross earnings toward Christian charities, but this is not where it has to end. A person can choose to volunteer time to a Christian charity or even material items that are no longer needed. Giving time or money to any organization or group that helps improve the quality of life for someone else should always be done with a cheerful heart and with a mission to please God.

Sadly one of the topics worth discussing is how to find an honest organization to become involved with. There are many Christian charities that do not use their money wisely. It is important for someone to know exactly where their monetary donation will go before writing a check. Another way to solve this problem is to simply give time or material items. While tithing on a regular basis is important because this is written in scripture, people can also volunteer or give items to charitable causes on top of the money that is given each week or month as a tithe.

With so many charitable organizations and causes, choosing the right cause can be difficult. It is important for a person to support a Christian charity that they fully believe in. This group might even be a program that personally means something to the individual. Whatever the reason, the individual should give freely and with their whole heart to enjoy the benefits and rewards of providing assistance and aid to those in need.

Giving can be a difficult decision when bills are piled up and there never seems to be enough money. It is important to know that God blesses His people when they try to bless others through Christian charity. The woman at the well is a perfect example of how people should view Christian charities. "And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury." (Mark 12:43)
