How to get started:
- Now that I am a member, what do I do?
To make friends quickly, send out at least 10 e-mails and post your photo. You can send out e-mails by clicking on the "Last 25 Users" link or by using the "Search" boxes. You can look for friends by searching people with common interests as yourself. When the search results page displays, click on the user name to view their profile. If you are interested in this member, click on the "Send Mail" or "Send Card" link to say "Hi!".
- How do I SEARCH for a friend?
To begin searching for a friend, click the "Search" button on the main menu. If your search results are empty, your search is too specific, therefore broaden your search.
- What are FRIEND COMMENTS?
Friend comments allow your friends to add comments to your profile. Each time someone adds a comment, you must APPROVE or DECLINE the comment in the "Edit Profile" section before it gets posted to your profile. Once comments are posted to your profile, you have the ability to delete them by editing your profile. We have a limit of 25 friend comments. As new comments are approved over the 25 limit, the oldest comments are automatically deleted. The number next to the "Edit Profile" link on the main menu tells you how many friend comments need approval.
- What is the FRIEND LIST?
The Friend List allows you to keep a record of all your friends within the Friendship Community. From this list you can quickly view profiles, send emails and send ecards to each of your friends. This is also a great opportunity to meet new friends by viewing your friend's Friend List. Click the "Add Friend" link in a member's profile to add this member to your Friend List. Click the "View Friends" link to view all of a member's friends. To view your Friend List, click the "View A Profile" link, enter your user name and click the "View" button. After your profile displays, click the "View Friends" link at the top of your profile.
- What do I do once I'm in the CHAT ROOM?
The quickest way to make friends in the CHAT ROOM is to say "hello", ask where the other users live and be friendly and christ-like. Periodically, CHAT ROOM tips will appear showing you how to edit your profile, send messages, send private messages and change rooms.
- Should I SUBMIT my photo?
Yes, we have found that adding your photo to your profile greatly increases correspondence, especially for those who have joined for Dating or Marriage. Click the "Submit Photo" link on the main menu. The instructions are on the page.
- I want to read my emails. How do I read them?
Click on the "View E-Mails" link on the main menu. Then click on the "E-Mail" link under the "View" column. To read the profile of the member who sent the E-Mail, click on the username link in the "From" column.
- How do I send someone an EMAIL or ECARD?
After you do a search, click on the username to view the profile. When the profile is displayed, you can click on the "Send Mail" or "Send Card" link. If the EMAIL or ECARD mailbox is FULL, you will get a message stating that the user's mailbox is full. Your message did NOT get delivered, but the user will get an e-mail stating they missed your message. Try sending them the message at a later time.
- How do I use the RANDOM SEARCH?
Click on the "Random Search" link to locate friends that are most active, in your age group and have a common reason for joining.
- How do I save an email message?
Print it out or email it to yourself.
- How do I change my PROFILE or E-MAIL information?
Click the "Edit Profile" link on the main menu. Make your changes and click the submit button at the bottom of the page.
- Should I include my personal e-mail address when I send e-mails to members?
No, our e-mail system is based on your user name for your privacy. There is no need to give out your personal e-mail address when using our Christian community e-mail system.
- How do I BLOCK a member?
If you receive an e-mail from a member that is breaking rules 14 or 15 below, please click the "Block This Member" link at the top of the e-mail. Blocking a member causes a manual review of the profile by the ChristiaNet Staff. Help us keep the community a safe and enjoyable place to meet by blocking members that are breaking the rules.
- How do I report Friendship/Dating ABUSE?
Please report abuse by clicking the "Abuse" link on the main menu and sending the person's User Name. They will be deleted from the community immediately.
- THINGS NOT TO DO in the Friendship/Dating Community!
If anyone breaks these rules, report them immediately. Click the "Abuse" link and send the User Name and put the word Abuse in the subject line.
- DO NOT email other users after they have requested you to STOP.
- DO NOT ask for MONEY or BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION.
- DO NOT ask for MARRIAGE before it's appropriate.
- DO NOT talk about SEX related topics in your profile or emails to other users.
- DO NOT ask for a personal email address.
- DO NOT ask or call phone numbers.
- DO NOT advertise other web sites (personal or business) or list any email addresses. Our community remains free because of ChristiaNet's PAID advertisers.

Technical Problems:
- When I try to login, I get the message "INVAILD User Name" or "Your session has timed-out" error. What do I do?
- Make sure your Security/Privacy setting are set to MEDIUM.
- Add www.christianet.com to your web site PRIVACY settings.
- Make sure Cookies and Javascript are enabled in your browser.

- Type the user name and password, do not copy & paste from an email.
- Clear your CACHE and close ALL of your browser windows.
- Disable any Internet Security programs.
- Do NOT bookmark our login page. Bookmark the homepage.
- Click here to have your User Name and Password emailed to you.
- I can't view the CHAT ROOM, it shows a blank page.
For first time users, it can take up to 3 minutes for the Chat Room files to download to your computer. Please be patient.
- I can't view the CHAT ROOM, it says my browser is not compatible.
Some versions of Windows do not have the latest Java Virtual Machine(VM).
- On the top menu bar of your Internet Explorer browser, click on TOOLS -> Windows Update. Download the latest critical updates from Microsoft.
- Goto www.java.com and download the Free Java Download.
- After installation is complete, Internet Explorer users make sure your Java (Sun) checkbox is checked under TOOLS -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Java (Sun) -> Use JRE for <applet>
- When I fill out the User Signup form, I did not receive the email with my user name and password. How do I get it?
If you received the email confirmation page after clicking the "Submit" button, Click here and follow the instructions to have your User Name and Password emailed to you or click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page, fill out the form and let us know.
- I have forgotten my user name or password, how do I get it?
Click here and follow the instructions to have your User Name and Password emailed to you.
- Can I change my User Name or Password?
No, they are computer generated.
- How do I delete my profile?
Click here to delete your profile.
- I submitted a photo but it is not showing up in my profile. What do I do?
If your photo does not appear within 24 hours, please resubmit it. Many times the photos do not get received or are too blurry. Please make sure you follow the guidelines on the submission page and try again. If you are replacing an existing photo, the new upload will automatically replace the existing photo.
- I can't hear the music on my E-CARD.
If you don't already have MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) Plug-In software installed on your computer, you can download Media Player for free at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer.
- Why does it ask for an email address when I try to send an ECARD to a member?
To send an Ecard to a member, you must click the "Send Ecard" link when viewing the member's profile. ChristiaNet ECARDS are the only ECARDS that can be sent within the Friendship & Dating community.
- The Community Main Menu shows I have EMAILS or ECARDS, but when I go to view them they are blank. Why?
Your browser has cached an old version of the main menu. Please click the "Reload" or "Refresh" button on your browser to get the latest counts.
- I deleted an email or ecard by mistake, what can I do?
Once you click the "Delete" link it is removed from the server. But you may be able to click your BACK button a few times and recover it from your browser's cache.
- I get an "INVALID E-CARD PASSWORD" error when I try to view an e-card or the main menu states I have some e-cards but when I click "View E-Cards" they disappear.
Our system automatically deletes an e-card after 25 days. Your e-card count on the main menu only updates when you click "View E-cards". If you have e-cards, they will automatically disappear after 25 days.
