Christ’s Home for Children is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization providing residential services to children since 1903. Children between the ages of 3 and 11 who have experienced abuse, neglect or abandonment find a refuge in our cottage foster care program. These children are learning to believe in their future while dealing with the trauma of their past. Committed, sensitive and qualified married couples, trained in the Teaching Family Model bear primary responsibility for the children. These couples provide the care and nurturing of the children, and are the primary caseworkers. The live in, twenty-four and seven Model provides the Teaching Parents with many opportunities to “seize the moment” and encourage the child to talk through their concerns relating to their past, their placement, family, peers, etc.
In addition to the Teaching Parent couple, there is additional team of two support staff (couples or singles) assigned per home. This staff provides third person coverage for family visits, conferences or “high traffic times” such as sporting practices, mealtimes, homework time, etc. They also provide continuity of care during Teaching Parent time off. Support staff receives the same training as the Teaching Parents.
Christ’s Home offers salary with great benefits such as health coverage, paid time off, life insurance, long term disability, short term disability and 401K.
