New Church Building Floor Plans
|
New church building floor plans are not just the layout for a new place of worship, but the guidelines for God's house. Getting such plans are an important mission and there are many factors to consider when members are contemplating a new building. There are a variety of layouts on the market today. Finding the perfect plans can be overwhelming, sifting through floor plans, attempting to determine what is a good "fit" for congregation and their budget. Having new blueprints designed by an architect can also be a difficult task. It takes time, research, and patience to get the right layout selected, but in the end, it's all about worshipping God. "Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings" (Psalm 9:11).
Perhaps the best way to begin the process of choosing a layout is to create a needs assessment evaluation. This is a survey of the ministries and the future desires of each of those ministries. A needs assessment should start with selecting a committee that will oversee the assessment and results. Assessments should also include classroom needs, seating capacity needs, and any parking issues. This committee should have a good representation of the diversity of the congregation. Committee heads should speak with all of the ministries and get numbers, facts, and future goals written on paper for evaluation. Having these facts and ideas will help in designing or choosing new church building floor plans.
Once the needs assessment is complete, church congregations will want to have a third party check their facts and figures, and possibly conduct another over-all assessment. An architectural firm or building contractor who is experienced in working with new church building floor plans may have insight into areas of need that were overlooked by committee members. Ample storage and parking are items that are often overlooked. Once there is a comparison of the church's assessments and a professional's advice, then the selection of layouts can begin.
A layout should be selected based on current needs and future growth. And, of course, blueprints should be floor plans that reflect the church building budget. Churches are encouraged to take plenty of time in making decisions about their new church building. Being fully prepared to meet the future needs of the church will be time and money well spent. Also, be sure and pray over every decision, seeking the Lord's will and direction for the new church building. Choosing new church building floor plans can be an exciting adventure, when working within the Lord's direction for the church.
