Tropical Silk Flower Arrangements
|
Years ago, back in the 1960's, artificial flower arrangements really did look artificial, and cheap! The arrangements were so artificial looking, that pieces of plastic could be seen still stuck to parts of the stem and petals of the blooms, and if the bouquets or individual flowers were allowed to remain in the sun for more than a week or two, little color would be left. Back then paper arrangements were also in vogue and were obviously fragile and not too practical around the home, except for special occasions; even then dust and fading would soon overtake these too. Today, however, artificial flower arrangements have come a long way baby, and now are the crme-de-la-crme of the fake plant industry. Artificial flowers now out price the real thing by a mile due to the extreme care and creativity that must go into their creation. Demand for artistic floral masterpieces is evident when attending weddings and parties, and to be sure the plants are artificial a guest would have to get right on top of the flowers to be sure of the authenticity! For people with the patience and time to create home-made artificial floral bouquets, perhaps a trip to the local craft store is in order to pick up all the greenery and blooms necessary to put together a passable bouquet for a birthday party or low-cost wedding. There are some nice silk florals awaiting the discriminating buyer and the colors aren't too bad either. All one needs is a discriminating eye and taste for decorating to be successful at flower arranging or putting together boutonnieres and bouquets for weddings on the cheap. Of course there is nothing wrong with a low-cost wedding and so no one should feel badly about doing this. For those who have more to spend and are hosting a large celebration that may include a few local well-known guests, perhaps raising the bar a bit more on quality is in order. Spending money on flowers is a sure way to keep memories of celebrations from fading as the years wear on. In the Scriptures, a lover describes her beloved using flowery symbolism: "His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, droppin sweet smelling myrrh" (Song of Solomon 5:13 KJV).
Nothing is more romantic at a wedding than seeing beautifully crafted artificial flower arrangements crafted from silk of several beautiful and complementary colors. These can positively make the wedding that special day the bride has always been dreaming about. In order to achieve this, there are wedding planners available everywhere who specialize in silk floral creations not only for weddings, but for almost any occasion. Not only is stock on hand to choose from, but if there is a particular floral gathering that can only be seen in the mind's eye, then there are also custom designers available to cater to any floral fantasy one can dream up. Choose carefully though, because even a small arrangement in a container can cost as much as $230! Artificial flower arrangements can be a life saver for people who are allergic to plants and blooms. Also, there are no pesticide residues to worry about, no need to keep the plants moist in vases or containers, no worries about spilling water on tables, no worries about stems that break for blossoms that fall off. Artificial flower arrangements can last a life time if cared for in the proper manner. This is especially wonderful for brides who will want to keep these mementos to look at year after year. What better way to remember that special day? Die-hard romantics will most likely also want to splurge for silk for proms, first dates, engagements and even baby showers. On a more serious note, funerals can be simply stunning when done in silk, and could remain with the family as a remembrance. Folks in colder climates may appreciate receiving tropical silk flower arrangements as a way to get away without having to get away. A person could conceivably create a tropical paradise in the home by purchasing real-looking orchids in several striking colors, strategically place some palms to gently wave overhead when sitting on the couch, or cover the coffee table or mantle in flaming bromeliads and shockingly bright bird of paradise flowers. Hang the hammock from one end of the room to the other and it's time to relax! Don't forget the CD of ocean sounds and island music to set the mood. Tropical silk flower arrangements can make sophisticated additions to upscale office buildings when entertaining high level guests from government and industry. If an office is located in a southwest area of the country, but plants are scarce, tropical silk flower arrangements would be a wonderful addition anywhere, especially at travel offices or when throwing that once-in-a-lifetime Hawaiian luau! These types of floral arrangements will most likely run a bit higher than regular silk flower arrangements due to the originality of the creation. Just about anything that blooms and can live in the rain forest can be classified as a tropical flower, so perhaps paging through some nature magazines can reveal some tropical plants that not many other people have had at celebrations. This is the time to be original.
Remember though, when choosing to use tropical silk flower arrangements, that these types of florals do not have a large number of blooms. The greenery tends to have wider leaves, some are spiked, some are fleshy, but all are elegant yet understated and impressive. Who knows, one day these artificial arrangements may be worth a lot more money if the rain forest becomes more and more endangered. Those orchids could be gone one day, and the only ones left will be those made of silk. Grandchildren will appreciate the opportunity to see what these beautiful specimens once looked like up close. So, not only is buying tropical silk flower arrangements sensible, but can also add to preserving history and floral posterity!
