Maui Condo Rentals
|
Most Maui condo rentals can add a touch of class and elegance to any Hawaiian vacation, without breaking a person's budget. The opportunity to travel to Hawaii for any reason should be a joyous occasion, and is probably the result of hard work. So, before leaving for a tropical island paradise take a moment and seek the Kingdom of God. Pray and give thanks to the Lord. Turn over all worries to Him because the finest details, including finances and lodging, will be taken care of. "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added onto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6: 31-34)
Suitable accommodations can be rented for as low as $100 per night. But, that's the bottom range. An online search revealed that condominiums can be rented for $1,300 or higher per night. Basically, a condominium is a small apartment. Well, sometimes they are not so small. Many people opt to live in condos full time because of the amenities they offer. Although most condominiums are privately owned, the property manager handles maintenance and up keep of the grounds. Some condominiums are built specifically for short-term rentals, such as time shares. At the very least, Maui condo rentals should come with a full kitchen and separate bedrooms. Many have dens, dining rooms, and large tiled bathrooms with hot tubs. Because of the ample living space condominiums are perfect for groups of travelers. Like any accommodation away from home, condominiums can be modest or luxurious. Obviously, the more extravagant places will cost more. But, the average Maui condo rentals run between $155 and $800 per night.
Not surprisingly, there are many variables that go into pricing of Maui condo rentals, which are offered by a multitude of sources. Large corporations operate luxury resorts as well as some of the more modest complexes. Popular chain hotels also offer short-term condominium opportunities to travelers. Condominiums can be as small as a studio apartment with a kitchenette or large enough to sleep 13 or more people comfortably. Fire codes restrict the number of people that can occupy a room. Condominiums can be ocean side, or ocean front, or have a mountain view. The better views command higher rent. They can be pool side and away from the commotion of tourist areas. On the other hand, Condos can be located real close to amenities such as shopping, dining, and entertainment. Helpful travel agents can get condo rental packages that include car rentals, meals, concierge service, trip insurance and maps of the area.
Anybody planning to use Maui condo rentals on an upcoming vacation has a tremendous number of small details to consider. Hawaii and the South Pacific in general are considered a tropical paradise. The weather doesn't fluctuate wildly over the course of the year. Condo prices may increase during the peak tourist season though. Hawaii is rich in lush vegetation and natural beauty. Maui sunsets are equaled in beauty only by sunrises. It may be possible to rent a condo that takes advantage of one or the other. Since Maui is an island, both can be enjoyed with little effort. Condos are multipurpose accommodations and are great for honeymooners, family vacations, golf vacations, or holiday get-a-ways. Although many of the larger condominium resorts are owned and operated by corporations, many private owners offer their condominiums for rent during certain times of the years.
Keep in mind that Maui has strict zoning laws, which lists and considers some condos as transient vacation rentals (TVR). Fortunately, most Maui condo rentals will not be a problem. As a result of the zoning, some condominiums may be rented illegally. However, most are not. According to an online condo information website, some magazines have warned travelers that Maui County is attempting to close TVR. According to the website, the magazines also suggest that hotels are the only option available to tourists. This doesn't appear to be the case. TVR have been an issue since Maui County announced a tougher enforcement of current zoning laws. As a result of the enforcement effort, some transient vacation rentals have been shut down. Zoning prohibits rentals in residential areas that are completely outside of areas zoned for hotels. But, most TVR exist legally in areas zoned for hotels and vacation rentals. Travelers to Maui who have questions can simply ask the condo owner if he or she has a Maui Business License. Also, owners of transient vacation rentals pay a transient accommodation tax and general excise tax.
Although not strictly Maui condo rentals, bed and breakfast accommodations that fall outside the hotel zone areas are not prohibited. General plan or community plans restrict or limit vacation properties in residential areas. Unless a traveler is sure the accommodation is within the hotel zone, just confirm with the owner they are licensed to operate a transient vacation rental property. Overall, Maui condo rentals provide larger spaces and often have better amenities than hotels and other available accommodations. They may also cost considerably less than hotels. Depending on how much a traveler is willing to pay, some rentals offer catered meals, grocery stocking services, wireless internet, well-equipped kitchens, private lanais, and some will arrange tours.
