Halloween Party Favors

Finding the perfect Halloween party favors is important to the success of any party, giving both children and adults a special prize to commemorate the evening. People will look for Halloween party supplies that are sure to make their celebration among the best of the year. And, there are tons of options when it comes coordinating surprise gifts with decor and with a party theme. Parties for the young will have candy and small prizes as treats to take home. During the teen years, however, the "extras" that come with a Halloween celebration are a little more on the serious side and scary objects are often given as guest gifts and surprises. Since Halloween is stemmed from an old Celtic Druid holiday for the dead, as children grow into adults, party favors become even more frightening.

A few of the frightening ideas for gifts at the best parties include fake human body parts. And, this seems to be just the beginning of the endless array of Halloween party supplies that are intended to frighten. Our culture continues to make Halloween party favors extremely scary so that the more terrified people are, the better the party will seem because we equate being frightened to having fun. The celebrations on October 31st continue to become a scarier holiday each year, with reports of violence, poisoned children, and cruelty to animals.

When shopping for interesting things to make a celebration really fun, keep a few things about this holiday in mind. Halloween party favors represent what the holiday is really all about. Placing gruesome images into the hands of children may be planting seeds that lead to harmful behaviors later on. This day is heralded as special to many different cults and has a history in ancient death worship. It is a holiday that is rooted in a story about sacrificing others and dealing with evil spirits. As Christians, it is important to take a stance against such things. "All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:23)

Halloween party supplies can border on absolute terror. It is not good to fill our minds with things that come from evil. The entire holiday encourages that which is evil and we ought to stay away from it. Even in looking at the holiday that the Druids used to celebrate should cause Christians to run in the other direction. This is a holiday that we need to walk against so that others will follow. The Lord calls us to live a life that glorifies him, so we are sending mixed messages in celebrating Halloween. "And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD." (2 Chronicles 12:14)
