Natural Estrogen Products

Natural estrogen products are made from plant extracts called phytoestrogens and can help to relieve the symptoms of menopause. Phytoestrogens can be found in foods high in isoflavones such as soybeans, miso soup, tofu, and soy milk. Natural estrogen cream is normally used to treat vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence, and yeast infections. This type of cream normally contains soy isoflavone phytoestrogens, Vitamin E, and black cohosh. Alternative therapies that can help minimize symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and fatigue include black cohosh, evening primrose oil, flaxseed, soy products, dong quai, and ginseng.

Common symptoms of menopause include but are not limited to brain fog, fatigue, hot flashes, cold chills, night sweats, insomnia, irritability, headaches, and depression. Natural estrogen products can minimize these symptoms by providing hormones that a menopausal woman is low in. When a woman begins to experience the onset of menopause it is a good idea to see a physician for a correct diagnosis. The onset of some illnesses may cause similar symptoms that are experienced during menopause. Having an illness can make the symptoms seem much worse. A physician may do some routine tests to rule out other possible causes to narrow down a diagnosis.

Supplements can provide needed vitamins and minerals that can bring added health benefits to women going through the change of life. Some of the most important nutrients to look for when purchasing supplements are folic acid, zinc, Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids. Since menopause can gradually increase a woman's risk of developing heart disease doctor's recommend omega-3 fatty acids to decrease inflammation and cholesterol. Eating fish and walnuts can provide important nutrients that contain omega-3 fatty acids. Types of fish high in omega-3 fatty acids are salmon, mackerel, tuna, and trout. Adding supplements and nutrients can do a lot for a woman who is experiencing low estrogen levels. In addition, a doctor may recommend using a natural estrogen cream to take care of discomfort due to vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence.

A healthy diet and exercise are very important for menopausal women. There are some foods that can trigger symptoms and should be used sparingly if at all; these include alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and spicy foods. Foods that are healthy and should be included in the diet are whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat meat and dairy. Exercise should be done every day for 20 to 30 minutes to help keep blood pressure down, lower cholesterol, and to maintain normal blood sugar. Exercise will also help women who suffer with symptoms of depression. Regular activity releases endorphins that have an affect on mood and emotions. Exercise is a very important part of controlling symptoms during menopause but there are some things that can be included with lifestyle changes that will provide even more benefit. Using natural estrogen products can help to raise hormone levels which will reduce discomfort and irritability.

Doctors do not recommend that women self-diagnose or self-treat symptoms related to menopause. Having a physical exam may provide a physician with some insight when making a diagnosis and prescribing treatment. Even starting a therapy of using natural estrogen cream can prove to be detrimental to one's health especially if too much is used. A doctor can advise a woman about how much can be used safely without having to worry about the development of breast or uterine cancer. The physician can also prescribe a vaginal cream that will include instructions on the safe way to use the product. Products that are labeled as natural may not be as safe as they seem to be especially when used without a doctor's recommendation. Being cautious and seeking professional help is the best way to begin any type of treatment.

Women who are going through the change of life may experience mood swings, irritability, and suffer with depression. Depression can affect a woman's life in virtually every area. Depression can affect self-esteem, self-confidence, the ability to make decisions, to hold down a job, and have a bad affect on relationships. Some women benefit from natural estrogen products and others may need to try taking anti-depressants. The main thing is that a woman realizes the importance of seeking help when feeling depressed. In addition, being part of a church and having fellowship with others can help to alleviate the feeling of being alone. Prayer and faith in God can give a person hope. God's word has many wonderful promises that can help a person to find peace in the midst of circumstances. "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).

Stress can have a big effect on a woman's physical and mental health. Feeling ill, depressed, irritable, and uncomfortable can cause stress. Usually a woman already has stress related to maintaining relationships, keeping a home, taking care of a family, and trying to hold down a job. Stress can make the symptoms associated with menopause worse. Life can seem overwhelming for any woman who is trying to do it all. One thing that may help to identify areas of stress is through keeping a daily journal. Another idea is to see a counselor in the effort to learn coping strategies. Sometimes when life seems overwhelming even just one small positive change can mean a lot. Using a natural estrogen cream can help with minor symptoms of irritation but even just this one change can make a difference in how a woman feels and how she copes.

Natural Estrogen Cream

A prescription for natural estrogen cream will help a woman suffering from vaginal dryness changes due to declining hormone levels that occur during menopause. Estrogen has the responsibility of developing and and maintaining the female reproductive system and her secondary sexual characteristics. The origin of female hormones in women who are menstruating is the the human female reproductive system. This system produces three separate hormone types. The first type is called Estriol. 90% of the estrogen in the woman's body is Estriol. While 3% of her female hormone is composed of Estrone. The final 7% of estrogen is Estradiol. These three hormones work together to regulate, strengthen, and promote healthy function of female attributes. When these three estrogens are balanced, in appropriate proportions, the vagina remains well nourished and healthy. When there is proportional change in any of the three types of hormones, a woman's vagina will become undernourished and exhibit a thinner, smoother, and paler appearance. Natural estrogen cream is prescribed to eliminate these symptoms.

However, there is controversy surrounding the use of these creams. Increased risks of invasive breast cancer, stroke, myocardial infarction, pulmonary emboli, and the possibility of developing dementia has been reported after, as little as, 4 years of treatments with oral conjugated equine estrogens. Granted, an oral treatment is not the same as a cream, but given the fact that conjugated equine estrogens are water soluble; they are easily absorbed through mucous membranes, the skin, and even in the gastrointestinal tract. Because of this, experts contend that natural estrogen cream risks can be assumed to be similar to those of oral treatments. Studies suggest that in most women, the most popular formulary is very effective in reducing symptoms of menopause. This hormone replacement therapy effectively treats both the major and minor menopausal treatments that impact the daily lives and long term health of women. With no specific studies to back up these claims, it's a toss up as to whether a person might want to take this risk.

More contentious than the oral versus natural estrogen cream treatment method is the type of hormone formulation that is used. Conjugated equine estrogen does not emanate from humans. It comes from equines; that is horses. As humans, we are so careful about how we take care of things. Most people make sure they use the right products to preserve the beauty and longevity of their car, their furniture, and even their faces. But, all of those are superficial masks and treatments that do nothing to improve the operation of the car, the comfort of the furniture or the health of the face. We have all heard the term,"garbage in, garbage out." If we were to apply that phrase to the use of conjugated equine estrogen used in the most popular natural estrogen cream, we would see that the ingredient combination, though acceptable with all its limitations, is not the best possible treatment for declining hormone levels. "And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said , We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem: (Ruth 4:11)

Conjugated equine estrogen is made from the urine of pregnant mares. Horses have different hormones than humans, in different proportions than humans, and they carry different enzymes and cofactors that are required to metabolize the equilin that is present along with the "human type" hormones. A human female needs Estriol, Estrone and Estradiol in the correct proportion in order for the reproductive system to operate with accuracy and efficiency. When a natural estrogen cream does not replace all of the necessary hormones in the correct proportions; it is easy to see why the results would carry such heavy risk facts. Such a concoction when introduced into the human body will induce a hormonal imbalance. Yet, there is currently no FDA approved treatment that utilizes naturally occurring hormones to replace those lost during menopause. Outside of the U.S., there have been clinical trials and effective use of "triple-estrogen." Triple estrogen is a natural combination of Estriol, Estrone and Estradiol identical in structure to what is already witnessed within female reproduction. After careful diagnostic testing of the circulation levels of the three estrogens in human females, triple estrogen was formulated to produce natural quantities and proportions of Estriol, Estrone and Estradiol, as could be calculated into a treatment. Many women have successfully used this natural estrogen cream with very few side effects.

The aging process is imminent. From the moment a person is conceived they are traveling toward their demise. Making wise choices about health can be arduous. Because people and the functions of our physical and mental systems are so complex, it is often difficult to decide whether to go with a traditional westernized approach, a traditional eastern approach, a new wave approach, or a home remedy for treatment. During menopause the choice to utilize natural estrogen cream is just as difficult as any other health choice in life. The main thing we must all do is to challenge ourselves to learn and investigate the benefits and risks of treatments. Sometimes a less effective treatment may be preferred because of the overwhelming negative side effectives of treatments with increased efficacy. In weighing out the benefits and detriments against the overall quality of life, it's easy to come to the wrong conclusion. One thing is for sure, making poor choices over and over can often be overcome when new and better information is introduced and acted upon.
