Fire Science Degree

A fire science degree is a college degree that is preparation for performing the duties of a firefighter and has been developed in conjunction with the National Fire Academy. Fire science degrees are not available at every college or university, but many colleges offer a program of this nature. Although this kind of degree is not usually a requirement to be hired as a fireman, they can be excellent preparation for advancement opportunities in this very specialized industry.
