Marketing Blogs

Marketing blogs create a new avenue for businesses to reach out to customers. Blogging allows businesses to start a conversation with a prospective client whom they may not have been able to reach otherwise. Once the client is engaged in conversation, the marketing power of business blogs will inform them of the businesses useful product or service. They can answer questions the consumer might have, offer advice, and many predict blog advertising will soon become a routine way of sharing information with customers or clients.

Business Week magazine declared in a recent headline, "Blogs will Change Your Business: Your customers and rivals are beginning to use the marketing power of business blogs. Our advice: Catch up...or catch you later." They declare in the article that using blogs is not a "business elective." "They're a prerequisite." As businesses have begun jumping into the sphere, using blogs to market advantage has become widespread. Some major companies have used this technique for not only marketing but public relations campaigns as well. General Motors began blog advertising that's been wildly popular with car enthusiasts, but has also allowed GM to get the message out about their vehicles.

Businesses are using these to their advantage. The marketing power of the blog is becoming undeniable, and it's a cheap form of advertising. More than 9 million marketing blogs are used right now, with 40,000 new ones being created each day. Information is being posted and commented on so quickly that the public literally has the news at their fingertips. If businesses aren't marketing with business blogs, then it will be others who control the information released about a particular business. Even more so now, the public doesn't want to wait for answers in an ad or PR campaign, and they don't have to. A simple search on the Internet will probably bring up plenty of topics being discussed in the blog sphere. So, if a business doesn't tell them about their products and services, they'll go some place else for information. "But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own self." (James 1:22)

It's time for businesses to start blogging with the rest of America. The corporate world is starting to get on board with the blog, but any company, large or small, can blog. Blogging for a business is simply using a new marketing strategy. It's starting a dialogue with customers and clients. Blogging has begun to transform Internet marketing. The public is on board as evidenced by the success of marketing blogs already started and the number of personal, news, and professional business blogs already in existence.
